Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is an upcoming foldable which consider to be a good camera phone while Google recently launched its first foldable with having good photography experience named Google PixelFold. Resolution or Megapixels

The resolution of any image is defined by the Megapixels of the camera sensor through which that picture has been taken. A high-resolution photo gives more details about the image and can be taken with a larger megapixel lens. Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a triple camera set-up of a 50MP Main sensor, 12MP Ultrawide lens & 12MP Telephoto Lens on the Rear side while a 12MP Selfie camera on the cover display and 4MP on the interior side. On the other hand, Google Pixel Fold has triple cameras of 48MP Main, 10.8MP Ultrawide and 10.8MP Telephoto lenses on the Rear whereas 8MP inner front camera and 9.5MP cover selfie camera are there. Both foldable phones have almost the same resolution on the base of the megapixel count giving the same image quality.

Sensors

The image quality of the camera phone depends on its sensors which are comprised of different photosites namely Pixels. The sensor of the camera creates images by collecting information from pixels and processing that data. The bigger sensor size produces more detailed images. Galaxy ZFold 5 has upgraded camera sensors which help in better image quality as compared to its predecessor. Google Pixel Fold has sensors of 1/2" Main, 1/3.1" Telephoto and 1/3" Ultrawide lens with a 1/4" inner selfie lens.

 

Pixel Size

Pixel Size is one of the main factors which decide the detailing of an image. A bigger pixel size means more area to capture more light and great exposure. Galaxy Z Fold 5 has yet to develop the outcome after the final launch but Google Pixel Fold reveals 0.8µm Main, 1.22µm Telephoto, 1.25µm Ultrawide, 1.12µm interior selfie lens and 1.22µm cover camera.

 

Aperture

Light through the opening of the camera enters the camera sensors and the diameter of this opening is called Aperture. It's the Aperture size which determines the brightness or darkness of the image taken, a bright image indicates a smaller Aperture count. Galaxy Z Fold 5 has an Aperture size of f/1.8 for the Main lens, f/2.6 for the Telephoto lens, and f/2.4 for the Ultrawide lens. While Google Pixel Fold has an Aperture size of f/1.7 for the Main lens, f/3.1 for the Telephoto lens, f/2.2 for the Ultrawide lens, f/2.0 for the inner selfie lens & f/2.2 for the cover camera.

Zoom Ranging

Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a 3x optical zoom Telephoto lens while a 5x optical zoom Telephoto is embedded in the Google Pixel Fold. Both phones result in better zoom capability. Galaxy Z Fold 5 results in more detailed close-range photos with 3x optical zoom. Google Pixel Fold gives extraordinary zoomed photos with more details and image quality with the help of 5x Optical Zoom.

 

Selfie Cameras

Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a 12MP cover display lens for selfies which is good enough for better selfies but its 4MP inner display lens is giving below-average results. While 8MP interior and 9.5MP exterior selfie lenses make Google Pixel Fold a good user experience foldable phone on the Front camera side.

 

Video Recording

Galaxy Z Fold 5 records video at 8k@24fps, 4k@60fps, 1080p@30/240fps, 720p@960fps with gyro-EIS. While the front camera records at 4k@30/60fps & 1080p@30/60fps.
 
Google Pixel Fold records video at 4k@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240fps on the Rear side while the selfie camera is recording video at 4k@30/60fps and 1080p@30/60fps.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 & Google Pixel Fold are giving tough competition to each other concerning their camera specifications. You can only decide on one foldable phone based on your preferences.
